Frequently Asked Questions
Who will do the testing?
Dr. Shur completes each evaluation personally. She interviews parents and conducts all of her own testing with each client.
What types of tests and assessments are given?
A variety of tests are used to assess intellectual and academic development. These tests can be given by paper and pencil or on iPads. Rating scales and interviews are used to evaluate social, emotional, and behavioral functioning.
Can testing be done virtually?
Intake interviews and feedback sessions can be done either in-person or virtually. All testing sessions are only done in-person.
When can I expect to receive a written report?
Dr. Shur feels clients should have results of an evaluation very soon after testing is completed. A feedback session will be scheduled to discuss the results of the evaluation within a week after the final testing session. In most cases the written report should be available at the feedback session. If new information becomes available and needs to be included in the report, the final report will be sent one to two weeks after the feedback session.
How can I pay for the evaluation?
Youthful Insights Psychology does not take insurance or submit any claims. Clients must pay out of pocket. After the evaluation is finished paperwork can be provided for you to submit to your insurance company for possible out of network reimbursement. However, there is no guarantee that your insurance company will reimburse you for any of the services provided.
